If you have unprotected sex or your condom splits or
burts you could be at risk of Sexually Transmitted Infections,
HIV or unintended pregnancy. There are services in your local
area to help you.
You can access testing for (STIs) at your nearest Sandyford
service. Check when your nearest Sandyford Clinic is open. Remember
that some STIs have no symptoms so it is important to get yourself
checked.
Women can access free emergency contraception (morning after
pill) over the counter at every pharmacy. Find your nearest
pharmacy on the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde website www.nhsggc.org.uk - simply
check the 'pharmacy' button and search using your
postcode.
Have a look at our handy Sexual Health Emergencies Booklet (see
related downloads). The booklet contains lots of good advice
on keeping yourself safe and healthy and has some useful
helpline numbers. Why not print one off, fold it up and pop
it in your wallet?
The booklet also explains the role and includes the contact
number of Archway Glasgow, a 24 hour, seven days a week sexual
assault referral centre for anyone who has been raped or sexually
assaulted within the last seven days. Further
information can also be found on our Sandyford website www.sandyford.org.
